Preserve Rutherford New Jersey – Mission Statement

As citizens of the beautiful borough of Rutherford we are gravely concerned with the current level and type of development in town, evidenced by the Agnew Place Development and additional large projects currently in discussion and planning stages.

In approving the original plan for Agnew Place, and entertaining its expansion – which was defeated only after concerted and prolonged protest by PRNJ and the Citizens of Rutherford – the Mayor and Council defied the Master Plan as recertified in 2018 and ignored the recommendations of the Planning Board, giving reason to question whether they have any intention of maintaining the Master Plan's designation of smart, responsible and aesthetically appropriate development. 

While the Mayor and Council have taken into account concerns of the Citizens, it is necessary that the public remain informed and involved.  As Redevelopment in Rutherford continues at a strident pace, PRNJ strives to inform Rutherford residents regarding Redevelopment issues and other topics relating to Quality of Life in the Borough.
